Hi sam stu and all,
Just incase the weather goes bad ...
We have got a function room booked out as our complex. It has a big pool so bring your swimming stuff we can use this if we are rained off or even if we are not. The complex is about 800m from the original meeting place. It also has a barbeque.

Hi Everyone,
As there seems to be more and more pommies moving down this way i thought it was time that we arranged a local meet up, to get to know each other.
Venue can be changed but there is a nice spot by the lake on Varsity parade, by the kids park with rock climbing wall (where Delfin do the Twilight Cinema screen). There is a BBQ and plenty of space. Any other ideas welcome.
Possible date sunday 15th feb??
we are Sam, stu and 12 yr old daughter who is in year 8 at Varsity.

p.s This is open to everyone, even if you are not in this area, just also trying to get something local going on too!!

It was a brill one!!
we had a bbq and drinks at the park and then went round to one of the families complex, where the kids spent the rest of the day in a big pool.
we are deffinately meeting again very soon, we'll put one up shortly (try a different venue)
It was a nice size group with good conversation. It's always good when you've got the 'how long have you been here'...etc, etc..,..... out of the way.
Thanks everyone that came

Hopefully you'll have some more meets in the future.
We're due to arrive in June, probably staying in Varsity Lakes so would be nice to meet some folks

I am in Merrimac. Been here 18 months and despite making a conscious effort to assimilate by moving in "non-pommie" circles, I am now very keen to hang out with some expats!!
Doing nothing this arvo as it happens, anyone fancy sinking a few bevvies at a local hostelry? :O)

hi guys,
not been on properly for a while. Will make a new one in the new year if thats ok? unless you want to organise one?
theres a plan to meet in broadbeach waters in jan.
gav!
you've been here 18 months and you've only just resulted to mixing with poms???
we've been here 2 yrs in march and have met some fabulous pommie friends. Admittedly, we didn't intend on socialising with mostly pommies..but we have soo much in common and at the end of the day poms ARE more fun!!!
and lets be honest ,poms are overtaking this end of the coast!!
...and we are having Loads of fun
