Wink Validating

I am off to Mackay in a week and I will validate my visa then, but I was wondering what happens, do they just basically put a stamp in your passport on the Visa page and thats it?

Also I wonder what they would say if I cheekily asked them to throw a stamp on my families' passport's, save them having to validate? I know it's a bit cheeky but I just wonder

Cheers Everyone

Just wondered what queu do you enter when going through customs for the first time to validate your visa?
Visitor or resident, or doesn't it matter?
