Question Vacation / Get to know Australia

Hi,

We applied for 175 visas in June and plan to travel to Australia on vacation while we're waiting on the decision. What's the best way to get to know Australia, not just the touristy places, in order to prepare us for the future?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to B.E.

Vast country, all the same in some ways, very different in others. You don't have to go very far from civilisation to be out in the wilds.

Where are you going to be living? Do you know? Might be best to check that out first.

Best of luck.

Alistair.

P.S. How much time do you have?

We'll be in Australia for about five weeks and have decided to stick to the east coast since it's such a big country. Some time will definitely be spent in both Sydney and Melbourne since we might end up there if the 175 visas are granted. :-)

Appreciating Australian culture / way of life, in such a short period of time, is only really possible through friends & family.

You've got a 5 week holiday to enjoy yourselves... make the most of it ! See the sights, and wander off the beaten track a little too.
