Using Gov.uk One Login - Proving identity
 

I'm trying to set up a Gov.uk One identity and after getting the message "sorry we cannot verify your identity", I've just spent a few hours of international calls getting bounced from one government department to another.
Can anyone advise if this is a common problem when contacting Gov.uk form overseas? I'm trying to access my National Insurance record and find out if I'm still eligible for class 2 contributions.

Can't help with the MyGov - set mine up before leaving UK.

But Class 2 contributions end next week, and you will not have time to apply.

What is different between One Login and Government Gateway? I've used the Gateway for years, my email doesn't work for One Login

Have a look on fbook, recently someone posted in Aus and others said Aus passport could be used if that is your issue
Can't recall specifics as I did it some time ago with UK passport. There was an answer/link giving other options
