Question US Tax

Hi All,
Does anyone know if I can claim tax back on the purchase of goods in Los Angeles on the way to Sydney?
I'm hoping to buy a laptop in LA.
I remember seeing notices in airports about claiming back tax or vat when leaving that country, but never really paid any attention.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

That's a negatory. CA sales tax is not refundable. They have signs to that effect plastered all over LAX.
