URGENT - Due to fly tom -DIAC issued visa to wrong passport!
Can anyone please throw anylight on what may occur in the following situation and what should we do.....
During PR visa application, DIAC asked for new passport for youngest,(as it expired within 6 months) which was arranged and details submitted. However when trying to check in on-line this evening with Singapore, it transpires that our "Visa Grant Notice" has been issued against the old passport....!!!!!
With the time difference there is no one i can speak to now, and we leave home 6am UK in morn with 11.30am flight!
HELP, one very stressed mummy!

I think you will be fine. Take both the new and the old passport with you.
Once you pass through immigration the visa will move (in the immigartion database) to the new passport.
When we travelled on new passports with our visas in the old ones, we just carried both. It tends to be the airlines who have an issue. The system at Australia immigration appears to be very good at tracking the visa from old passports to new passports.
Have a good flight

My daughter had a new passport when we travelled to the UK in May. Her visa was in her old passport which we had with us. No problem with Australian immigration on departure, just had both passports. The problem as the previous poster said was with the airlines! Our return leg was a codeshare with Air France and Qantas. Departing Paris, the check in guy had to bypass my daughters entry because when they swipe current passport it didnt show up as having the correct visa. When we landed at Singapore we were asked to go to the transfer desk. They were adamant that it was a problem that the visa was stuck in an expired passport and had to ring the immigration department in Sydney before they would let us on the flight. They did get through eventually and there was absolutely no problem but it was still a stressful experience I could have done without.
So I guess I am saying that immigration dont have a problem with it but getting to immigration can be. Luckily we had plenty of time between connecting flights.

The sticker in the passport isn't the visa, it's evidence of the visa.
Take the old passports with the sticker plus the new and you'll be fine.

Father in law just had a similar issue, he couldnt check in with Singapore online as NZ passport had less than 6 months left, he called them and they said it was the 'rules', and he'd need to renew his passport.
So, he htought he'd have to check in in his UK one, which doesn't have a visa in it as he has NZ citizenship.
Anyway, when he got to the airport to check in the old fashioned way, Singpore desk service didn't bat an eyelid and checked him straight on with his NZ passport.

Just allow extra time at check-in - ie don't turn up at the last minute - in case they need to check with DIAC

Update so far... Rang Perth airport last night, local time 3am. Got a number for immigration there and spoke to a very helpful lady who asked me to scan over new passport and she would link them. Kindly emailed confirmation which I took to airport. However, Singapore didn't bat an eyelid! Just about to board now ......
