Default UPGRADING AT AIRPORT

Hi guys
Been looking at the price of going one way business class to perth and the cheapest i have found is £1600. Does anyone know if it works outcheaper if you wait until you get to the airport and try to upgrade from economy to business class then?
thanks

Up To Late is an unknown quantity at this point

I have often asked to upgrade but all the seats have been full. So it's a risky strategy.

It may be better to book an economy seat and then phone a few days before to ask if there have been any cancellations. I've never done it - but it may work.
