went to a bar with now aussie`s just brits in rugby shirts been loud in what is supposed to be a posh area ( no class stucture this is oz ) but its a pom area so its okay

Well seeing that im traveling in a van around oz to see where i fancy living and so far have left cairns, been to darwin and broome all these are so much better than the northern suburbs. It make me feel sick to be a pom i wish they`ed all go back to spain as this is what it feels like !!!!!!!!

Oh well across the nullabor we go and very much looking forward to it !!!!!!!!!

Reading your post it seems you've done exactly what your complaining about. You've flocked to a place full of other Poms & now your whinging about it. There could have been any number of other pubs to choose from, no one forced you to stay yet stay you did. Maybe you were drawn by strange forces The other punters probably wish you'd hurry up & cross the Nullarbor as well

Tonychef, maybe it's time to take a realistic look around. You might be in Oz, but yes, there are going to be immigrants there. You seem totally down about all that you have seen. Maybe it's time to explore somewhere else rather than Perth?

Perth doesn't just consist of a few northern suburbs and one pub!
But then again, it might be better if you just head to the Great Eastern Highway and keep going

Oh I so agree with you Tracey. There are some of us who love Perth, but don't frequent pubs with Brits only, who don't just socialise with Brits only and who don't want evertything to be "just like UK".

For those who don't like it here - move then! Simple really.

I'm glad to see that after not coming on this forum for a while that everyone is still having a go at each other.. i'm sure your parents are really proud of you all..

I think tonychef was merely making a point that he didn't wanna spend a lot of time with loutish beer swilling (not that there's anything wrong with that) Poms, and that's fine, from what he said, I wouldn't want to either....

Fair play to you tony - keep on travelling - there's so much of Australia to see... although you might have to keep an open mind about the amount of Poms that actually live here.... But you don't have to hang out with them if that's not your thing!

I was in Singapore, watching England v's Portgual in the Euro finals a few years ago, in a irish bar, talking to a welsh man, in singapore surounded by english speaking people, singaporians etc, most with england footy gear on, atmosphere was brilliant.

Just out of interest Tony, have you been anywhere else in Perth or just the Northern suburbs? You had already worked out you didn't like it there, so have you taken your van and explored south of the river, Freo, down the coast a way? I haven't been to Perth for over 20 years so I have no idea, but judging by the number of all nationalities who live there, it can't be all bad all over.
