We have our medicals booked for August 26, and Im sure they will not have been requested by that time, but we want to have them ready for when they are requested. So what happens to them after they have been done...does the doctor send them off to Adelaide, or do we hang on to them oursleves, unopened?

When we had our medicals done unrequested, we asked the doctor to hold them at the surgery until requests were received. He did this and everything was fine. They can't give them to you so clear it with them first. I did worry that they would send them off without thinking.

As long as you have a file number for your application, the doc can send them off. If not, ask doc to hold them until you get the number. I did this. If you are going on a skilled independent visa the meds go to Sydney, other visas the meds may go elsewhere
