Do you have a visa to move to Australia, a pathway to a visa, or are you an Australian citizen? If not, then you probably won't be moving to Australia, willing or not.

I don't think train driver has ever been eligible, so unless you have another pathways such as a partner with skills, I don't see a pathway.

A friend of ours used to work for a rail freight company, Aurizon, and she was responsible for recruiting a load of train drivers from the UK. This was about 6-7 years ago. The drivers were brought out on 457 (temporary) visas. This visa is no longer available and I don't know if train drivers are still eligible for work visas - temporary or otherwise. Maybe best to contact some train companies direct - Google will help

All the big mining companies have extensive heavy rail operations to get their product to port, but be aware that they are all moving to driverless trains as of now, with Rio Tinto about to commence operations shortly. Australia is now pretty much a world leader in driverless haulage and I can see this trend moving from the mining sector into the general freight area

Good luck
