hI
Not sure who is interested, but recently contacted the work and pensions depertment to get a pension forecast before leaving for Oz and trying to decide if it is worth keeping up contributions. Interesting bit of news from the work and pensions department quote' the governement is considering reducing the number of contribution years required to obtain a full state pension from 44 years to 30 years' has anyone else heard about this?

Yes, but they're also going to raise the retirement age as part of the same legislation.
