UK income tax refund
Just a quick one to advise people it really is worth applying for an income tax refund when you've left the UK.
Before moving to Australia, I saw a financial advisor who told me I probably wouldn't be entitled any refund - and thinking he was the expert of financial matters, I thought I wouldn't bother.
Well, it took me nearly three years to send the forms off along with my P45. I was even a bit worried that it may turn out that I OWED money (I've been burnt by Australian tax returns!).
But no, I finally heard that I've been given a 1k GBP refund - fantastic! So really worth doing, even if you think you're owed very little.

Yes, it's certainly very worthwhile. I received over £1k in refund, which neatly paid off my student loan and left me with a bit of beer money...
Mmmm.... Beer....
