Hi All
Well after nearly 2 years work including getting the visas and doing the reccie
now at the point where house sale looming.
The reality of what we are doing is now hitting home hard, constant thinking of the move, sleepless nights, stress..wondering if we are going to be OK in OZ, wondering should we stay inthe comfort zone in UK...all in all rather SCARY !!
Could those of you have been at this point please advise if this is normal?
Ps ....Iv'e seen W.A. and have no doubts it is a better place than Oldham...just scary times , fear of failure etc.......hmmmmmm

Dave, it's only natural / normal to feel like you are. It's a bloody big step you are taking and you don't know what's round the corner. You've just got hang on in there and you'll be right

It's so easy to talk the talk but walk the walk is so hard and scary but I AM NOT going back and i WILL do this. I have me OH and 2 fantastic kids and as long as we are together nothing else matters.
if it doesn't turn out to be the right move for us at least we have given it a damn good try.
Keep strong and keep postive we still have a long way to go.
We are leaving around the 20th January. We have our rental organised and paid for to be in by the 28 th

Know exactly what you mean, we have been doing the this now for 2 years also and I now have 1 room left to decorate before our house goes on the market. Hopefully if it sells quickly then we should be there October. I have a good job here and its hitting home now that I live in a nice area and all is good so why am I doing it. I am beginning to question myself and wonder if I will muck it all up or the mrs will miss her family and want to come back etc.
I guess its all normal and bet that we are not alone now that crunch time is here.
Positive one day, negative the next.
Good Luck

We read all the negative & postive post here on BE, which helped us a lot.
We've been here less than 4 months, still no jobs which is a pain, as the OH was sponser for he's skill shortage, but we are not going back.
Be postive & everything will be OK, even if takes a bit of time. just be perpare it might take some time.
Good luck to all who are moving over soon,

The thing for you now, Dave, is the house sale is the most unpredicatable part of it. Skills assessments, Visa apps take varying amounts of time but you can predict it within a month or so. But the house could sell immediately - in which case you will be here before our winter is out, could take months to sell - in which case you will be driven up the wall or you might even find it sells then collapses - not nice but it has happened to many on here. My advice is to be prepared for all options and be fatallistic about it. Spend as much time as you can with friends / family and seeing / doing things in the UK while you have the chance. Start getting rid of stuff you are not going to bring with you 'cause if it sells quickly it will be bedlam. But if it takes a little longer you have more time with family and can enjoy the UK summer then arrive here for ours (which we did and I reckon was perfect).

I doubt there is anyone amongst us all that didn't have some nerves / doubts. It is entirely normal given such a big life changing move.
