Default UK Debt

Hi, we are looking at being transferred to NSW at the end of March. This is all new and we haven't really had chance to prepare for it. Our house is up for sale but it is unlikely that it will sell before we move. We have some debts in the UK that we wont be able to clear until the house is sold. How will we go about paying these from Australia?
Sorry but these things keep popping into my mind and you guys have really helped so far. Sonia x

It is worth keeping a UK bank account open I think, at least until you are absolutely sure Australia is for you. So direct debit, standing order, internet banking will all work.

If you need to be reliant on sending Australian Dollars to the UK to fund payments for things in the interim look at www.ozforex.com or the sister site for smaller transfer amounts at www.tranzfers.com

You use the website and your internet banking to send money between accounts. Its quick and easy. Just make sure your internet banking for your UK bank is up and running before you go.

That all said, if there is anyway you can avoid that due to the exchange rate I would probably look at it.
