Default tv program

hi we are the family featured in the program apparently it's called get a new life. we don't know the exact date it's going out there but it will be in the mail sat supplement the weekend before it goes out. you will all get to see the program before us as the bbc won't give us a copy until after it is screened so i can't even tell you what it will be like.

yeah, life here is good at the moment, although a few weeks ago we were wondering if we'd done the right thing (the new business was slow taking off). we are adjusting to the new lifestyle, the weather, living by the sea. the kids are loving it here and my daughter really likes her school. i must admit we'd read the debates on this site re nz vs uk schools and we are more than happy with our daughters experience here so far. the schools are very involved with the parents as well as the kids it seems we are invited to a function every other week at the school.
the kiwi's are friendly but it will take a while for myself and my wife to make real friends out here (we haven't had much chance to socialise yet and no rellies here to babysit)
but the lifestyle is great and there are so many new things for us to experience.

I've got to ask - but I'll understand if you can't answer. The impression that most of us here had of the 'relocators' on the Brisbane episode was that they were about as much use as the proverbial chocolate teapot. No local knowledge, appalling research, complete lack of understanding of the problems that would be faced by the family. Are they really that inept?

there were two teams of relocators who work behind the scenes.(we didn't have the brisbane team) the two people you are talking about did do a lot of hard work but are mainly presenters. they really helped us out a lot and we were sorry to see them go but you will hopefully notice that we did a hell of a lot of work and research ourselves. i can't believe people would make a move to another country without looking into it as much as possible. we were 100% certain it was the right thing for us to do but i will admit it is harder than we expected. the shock of only having 3 weeks notice was very hard but we decided to go ahead because they said they would help and they did. i haven't seen any of the programs (including ours) but they edit 7 weeks of filmiing down to one hour so you won't get to see everything that went on. anyway the sun is still shinning here and once we sell our house in the uk we will be ok

Thanks for that Paul, I look forward to seeing your episode in 8 days time.

I hope it won't be long before they get your tape to you!

Cheers
