Do you mean you want the codes for those remote controls that control everything rather than having 8 remote controls in the lounge room? If so they come with the remote when you buy one. We have one and they are pretty cool.

Now I getcha

UK TV is broadcast using PAL I encoding and Oz TV is broadcast using PAL B/G. So a lot of TVs sold in the UK will be designed only to receive PAL I and therefore won't work in Oz (they'll pick up pictures but not sound, like the little portable I brought with me.). To get around this, you can buy an Aussie VCR, digibox or subscribe to Foxtel and connect these devices to your TV using SCART / RCA connectors.

Another problem is that some UK TVs don't have UHF tuners so they will only pick up a couple of channels (like my 28" TV) and the VCR / digibox / Foxtel solution gets around this one too.

If you have a PAL I tuner, apparently you can get them seen to by a TV engineer over here but it's not something I've looked into.

Go to www.vcdhelp.com and click on DVD Hacks down the left hand side. You might find your DVD player is hackable (like mine )

Most newer TVs will be able to cope

On the tuning menu in some detailed settings perhaps on individual channel tuning you may see a B whihc you can change to an I or a G (or an I or a G that you can change to a B ...etc you get the idea). This is the PAL coding.

Some tv's will have a country setting in the main setup menu

Either way - dont worry about it - its trivial to sort out when you get here by purchasing a 50$ VCR and feeding the tunr signal through that. or if you get foxtel or a digbi-box the same thing is done and TV works fine.

Try re installing your TV. Like when you just bought it.
You may then get to set it to PAL B/G
You can sometimes get it to do this by selting a differnet country during the setup (if the tv has this feature)
If it has choose belgium as this is the same system as Australia.

I did this with my ferguson widescreen and it worked, unfortunately our Panasonic didnt have this option.

If its fairly new it should have the obtion fof changing between the various PAL formats
Hope this helps
