Angry Treading Water?!

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post here to see if anyone else is feeling the same as me about getting everything together to apply for a visa...

... I've been collecting evidence and getting things organised for almost a month now, everytime I think I can 'tick' something off as done, two new things seem to appear on the list that I'd left off. Its like I'm taking one step forward and two steps back...

WHEN IS THERE GOING TO BE A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!?!

Yeah..i know that feeling...except we are here in oz now and just finished the second part of our application after 2 1/2 years! it was only today i was looking at a saved airline ticket from a recent holiday to queensland and thought..i dont need to keep it..(as evidence of our continuing relationship)...it does rule your life for a while there!! worth it though!!

Having been through it twice (1st and final stage De-Facto spouse) now I can safely say yes there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The first application took me at least a month to compile. As with you I kept on spotting things I had missed such as full birth certificates, parents places and DOBS etc. The feeling when I lodged it all was fantastic.

The final stage processing was much much easier as I knew what to expect. In all it took 2 weeks to compile (including obtaining an Australian police check).

Evrobin I have now become a paper hoarder in case of something. I don't know what but I still save the bits of paper.

Anyway spare a thought for what the skilled visa apps go through.

Yeah its tough. The whole process took us over two years. In that time we must have sent nearly 2kg of paper to Australia.

The light dosn't really get brighter until your meds and police checks are requested. Admittedly its a big weight off your mind when the forms are sent off but you will find yourself wondering whether you did everything properly, dotted every i crossed every t etc.
