Default Travel Insurance on WHV

Could anyone advise me on what travel insurance I should take out for a WHV? It would initially be for a year but if we were to do the 3 month's harvest work it could be extended for another 12 months. What have other people done? Does it cost an absolute fortune? Would you be able to extend the insurance when you're over there?
Thanks

There are loads of backpacker travel insurance deal arounds just do a search on google. You can book them online so I don't think you'd have a problem extending it. A few links to get you started.

Used Endsleigh back in 1997, no use to you now but they were good at the time.
