Default Travel Insurance

Hi All

We are thinking of flying to Brisbane with Air New Zealand via the USA, so we can get the extra baggage allowance.

But we are hitting our heads against a brick wall to find suitable insurance cover for our PC and monitor.

Can anyone let us know how they got over this problem as we don't fancy gambling without insurance.

Have you tried the Post Office. Apparently they do quite a good "one way" cover.

Another one that has been mentioned favourably is "Walkabout"

If you ring the post office up they will do 'one-way' insurance where your trip starts in the UK but ends in your destination. They will also do it for longer than the duration of your flight so you get some sort of medical and possessions insurance until you can sort out medicare and your own contents insurance. I hope that helps.

I spoke to the post office and they yes they do emigration insurance (one way) but any one item is only covered upto £300 (from memory). I used Go-Walkabout in the end as they were cheaper and offered a better policy.
