I can't help you right now, but I'm also trying to find some employment in Townsville. Any ideas how or where to look. What kind of thing is your friend do? Would be interested too in any input as a place to live. Basically I know it's an army town, nothing particularly special but hey, it's northern queenland in the tropics - you can't really go wrong!
