Tourist Visa while waiting
My agent has told me I should expect to get my PR any week now, but in the meantime we have a family reunion planned in Oz first week in September. I'm worried that my PR won't come through in time and think maybe I should get a tourist visa just in case. Question is, will they give me one? I am not currently working although do own property in the UK. Any ideas?

Just make sure that you don't get an ETA after your PR visa has been granted. If you do so, you will end up cancelling your PR visa.

Re: Tourist Visa while waiting
=> contact your case officer to appraise him/her of your intention to apply for the tourist visa so that your p/r application isn't cancelled.
Best regards.

Hi Peter,
Actually, if you look at the 1 July changes you will see that an ETA no longer
cancels other substantive visas. Still a good idea to contact the case officer,
because the grant would be void if you were in Australia when it was made.
