so just about to enlist help of migration agent The main reason being I want help with ensuring we have everything needs for the skills assessment bit!

I have been quoted £10, 200 which includes everything - includes help of agent and goverment fees?

is that normal?

ive calculated it to be about £2500 for help and the rest is what the visa process cost.

I think I’m going to enlist help with the first step which will be -

skills assessment and help with getting ready for this , gathering evidence etc .

once that’s done I think we can do it on our own -

Is it quite straight forward doing the expressions of interest , state nomination ( Victoria) arranging own Medicals , police checks ?

You'll have to do the expression of interest, the state nomination form and application, arrange medicals and police checks, and gather all the documentation yourself even if you use an agent. That said, there are good reasons why some people choose to use one, primarily an adverse immigration history or medical issues, but some like that there's someone to check their completed application and documents. Many people, especially those with an uncomplicated application, do them themselves as well.

Can't comment on the fee sorry, I did my (UK spouse visa) application myself with the help of info from BE members.

Mines looking likely to reach around 10k for 2 of us, but that's with all vetasses costs etc also.
