whats with them .. they are rubbish ...

i spilt tea down a white teashirt ... we have washed it 3 times, added vanish to the wash and tried other stain removers and we can't shift the stain ...

soon as we move out of our temp accomodation we are getting a front loader!!!

Top loaders are shit, end off.

An Aussie recomended we use coles stain remover she claimed it was better as well as cheaper, haven't tried it but she does have a baby so guess that she'd know.

Why is it the machines fault the stains wont come out??

I cant imagine a FL will remove a stain any better than a TL if you are using the same temp water, the same washing powder and the same stain remover....Perhaps its the way you wash your clothes????

This whole FL v's TL is a load of shite!! Its a bloody washing machine...not a life saving device!!!

It may well be a cobination of the powder we are using and the temp we're washing our clothes at ... or it could be we're not using the machine right (after all i'd never even seen a toploader before!!) ..

we'd do a hot wash at home to remove the any stubborn stains (60degree wash) .. the toploader we have doesn't have that feature ..

whatever it is .. i'm gutted .. it was my favorite teeshirt!!

Sorry I have to disagree, our friend an Aussie has in the last couple of years bought a FL she says her clothes have never been so clean.

When we were staying in the cabin using the top loader nothing was clean, the instant we started using our own machine clean clothes at the same temp with the same liquid.

Fraser...I grew up with a Top loader....and a few years before I moved to the UK I actually bought a Front loader.....then sold it when I sold everything else before moving to London....We had a front loader over there.....and since coming back to Australia we have had a top loader...

No matter what machine you use....if you dont wash your clothes with the right temp water or with the right powder or without soaking....STAINS WONT SHIFT!! Its not the machine alone that washes your clothes....

I have always washed with cold water....everything is washed in cold. I use a top loader...If I have something really stained? Like the other day I had a white linen top which I spilt spaghetti sauce on it...I sprayed it with sard stain remover....put a bit of Napisan Oxywash in the machine. When it came out of the wash, the stain was still there(I expected it to be) but then hung it on the line in the sun for the day.....guess what? No stain by the end of the day!!

I have never had problems with stains or white whites or bright colours because...I know how to wash my clothes. Nothing at all to do with the machine I use.

Fiona.......

If TLs are supposedly more popular in Australia why is that when I went to The Good Guys to buy a washing machine they had twice as many FLs than TLs?

We have a top loader and my 7yo son has a slight nocturnal enuresis problem that we are trying to train him out of at the moment. The sheets go in the machine and come out with the urine smell still on them, we are having to wash everything through at least twice.
