We're going to Perth in 4 weeks for a 3 week holiday and are staying with family. We plan to emigrate in a few years time and would therefore like to do a little recon while we are there, although we are aware things will change by the time we are ready to emigrate. just wondering if there is anything anyone can suggest doing while we are there that will benefit us for our future move?

Yes, why not research the likely amount of money you would be earning in Aussie Dollars, deduct a realistic amount for a mortgage/rental living expenses cars etc. And see how far your spare cash goes for the holiday (if you have any). If you still have a really good time Oz is definitely a good move.

Hop on another plane and check out the Eastern states, seriously It's totally different to Perth, Sydney is beautiful. Perth is very expensive now and so Sydney is no longer unaffordable.
