The timing of it all....
Hello,
I am hoping for some some advice on timing everything once (spouse) visa in
We have a property to sell, are shipping furniture and also dogs.
Questions are:
1) Do we wait for exchange or completion before booking dogs into quarantine/on flights etc (as according to Melbourne quarantine 3-4 months notice needed November onwards) or do we take a chance and book as soon as a 'firm offer' comes in on property? NB: Can't go earlier than November anyway as dogs had Lepto boosters early March and may still test positive before then.
2) Anyone have any approx ideas of short term monthly furniture storage costs in UK for contents of a 1 bedroom flat?-in case we complete earlier than November and have to hang around in UK in rental until dogs can go.
3) We are funding the move from proceeds of sale of property but obviously need some funds in advance (dogs/furniture/flights)-how is everyone else finding the extra money for these things (all our money tied up in flat-no savings or credit cards (& cant get any at the mo due to CCJ from 5 yrs ago

4) Has anyone managed to secure a short term (i.e. 3 month) Aussie rental in advance before leaving UK/know if this is possible?-we would be willing pay all 3 months money up front on signing of rental contract. Otherwise its 1 month short term then homelessness with dogs when they get out of jail
(unless we manage to buy and complete in 1st month that is-we will hopefully be cash buyers but surely this is still highly unlikely?)
Any hot tips/suggestions would be most welcome!
