After driving around Brisbane today I will settle with Logan; that industrial, laid back style (I'll drive to the station, I think its the closest).
Whats the best ticket to get? Train or bus? If so whats the best way to buy - monthly, yearly?

Isn't it the same ticket? Go Card - regardless of what transport you take?
And do they even sell monthly / yearly tickets?

Ok so I pay by journey right?
How much should I expect to pay for station parking?

Journeys on a Go Card are much cheaper than pay as you go, also some buses now won't accept cash. If you play with the journey finder it will tell you how much each trip will cost.
Can't help with station parking though, something I never needed.

Station parking will probably be free....you'll just need to be there early enough to get a space.

You may want to reconsider Logan. Not the best reputation. Where are you working?

The stations around Logan are certainly not the sort of place I would want to leave a car for the day

I don't know that Brisbane is cheap exactly. Cheaper than Perth, Sydney and Melbourne for rent/buying houses but Adelaide is cheaper and lots of regional areas are too. I just wouldn't want to lower my standard of living to save $100 per week. Everyone's different though, but Logan would definitely be a drop for most people (and I grew up on a council estate in the UK so I'm not exactly posh).

Take a great deal of care before committing to Logan.
As others have said its a Go card that you need.

A lot is down to taste. I felt the Gap was a bit aimless. And yet some people prefer Strathpine; I found it emotionally bleaching. Logan appeals because it seems like an easy drive from Jimboomba so I can play hillbilly on the weekends. Seriously though, I had lunch at the Roosters on the main strip and it did not seem rougher than the industrial parts of Hebburn.

Strathpine, The Gap or Logan? I'm almost tempted to start a poll
Each to his own though
