I got home after work to find my wife a little quiet. She'd got the kids out of the car and into the house, came back out to grab something and a bolt of lightning hit in the garden nearby. She said it was like someone lighting a match in front of her eye.

Lots of cuddling in our household last night!

pop up here with some buckets - my pool's overflowing - looks a bit like one of those fancy infinity jobs

Apparently some clever so and so has decided that in the space of a few hours yesterday, the Gold Coast had 43 million tons of water dumped on it. Has hardly stopped since so we might all be a bit shorter by tomorrow

Goldcoast had 6,000 lightning strikes, don't know who was fast enough to count them and pity any poor epileptics watching out the window... .
