yes, the national anti-terrorist campaign was rubbished by virtually everyone. It was along the lines of "if you spot something suspicious, contact authorities". Well, surely that's common sense??!!

We've had one big story inthe paper recently about a guy with Al Queda links who married an Aussie he'd known only for a few weeks - the French warned Australia of him and now he's been deported (?? - cant remember whole story)

I've had occasions where I've felt fear - was invited to a party at the topof Rialto Tower last New Year's Eve and felt too uncomfortable to put myself at the top of a sky scraper on NYE - but that was personal fear.

Surpirsed no one's mentioned Bali, since Australia lost the most number of people (88 out of 202 killed were Australian) - so yes, attacks on Australians do happen.

Bali was a turning point for Australia and sadly it has made Aussies more insecure and fearful of the outside world. The level of animosity and ignorance of islam is a disgrace and the bigots have used the event to confirm their beliefs.

With regard to the anti-terrorist campaign, the govt agency looking after the campaign forgot to submit an entry to have it included in the White and Yellow Pages. All the new phone books have been published without it - so once everyone had thrown away their A4 leaflet with all the details, it was very difficult to actually find out the number to call!
