Thinking of Perth...
Since we had the news that we can apply for 136 rather than STNI I have been considering Western Australia and Perth.
I've just registered with Poms in Perth, but wondered if anyone on here can tell me if there's much call for a CNC Engineer that way? (Malc currently does this and will continue to do so until gets his electrician's training over there sorted).
Feels very exciting to be thinking of a new place rather than Adelaide where I've done loads of research, but also quite daunting so any hints on good places to get info greatly appreciated!

Ah Marco!!!!
Not sure, just investigating. We were only going to SA because of STNI but now we have more options to explore.......

Morning Bridie,
can't remember if your husband was a Turner, Miller or was it Wire Eroder ?
Are first choice is WA, would love to live in Dunsbourgh.
I spoke to the Mazak agent for WA the other week and he said there is loads of work, mostly Perth suburbs but some in Rockingham and Bunbury.
If you know Mazatrol or/and Fanuc he said it should be no trouble.
Money not that great though $45K-$60K depending on shifts etc.

Haven't found much on the web, I think most of the jobs are advertised locally or by word of mouth.
We have family in Rockingham, one of whom is a Turner, havent started asking to many questions of them yet as we may still be a year away from going.
CNC Wire Eroding is pretty specialist and the biggest supplier of wire eroders is Fanuc, so if there is a company there your husband should be ok.
Most Wire Eroders I know are Millers,Grinders or Turners first anyway and reckon if you can work on the multi axis of a wire eroder you can work on anything !
I'll email are family over there and ask about agencies anyway and let you know.
Did your husband go to WA recently ?
We went in 92/93 on a WHV, I bet it's a lot different now.
Didn't stop in Bunbury, not that it would be relavent after 12 years anyway.
