Don't have kids! Do you mean the whole of Sentosa island Mrs Dagboy or just the park?
emma, just the park, we just found it to be a bit like an asian Disneyland gone too far ! There was this huge dragon just inside the front gates - not only did its head move back & forward but the eyes lit up red & smoke billowed out of its nose . Tackiness of the highest order LOL. One thing we did really enjoy there was the 3D ride, lots of fun & the Images of Singapore as someone else mentioned. It was ok to while away the day, I wouldnt necessarily go back if we went to Sing again though.

Dont worry, Im sure the place you are staying at will be great .

Thanks tennisoz, we went for GL for its location and price so at the moment I think we will stay with it. If its that bad when we get there, we'll go somewhere else.

Cheers Kev.

I spent my first 3 months at the Phoenix Hotel in Orchard Road.
It was right next to the MRT and smack bang in the centre of Town.
Nice and comfortable, and reasonably priced.

Cheers.

Hi Kev,

As a resident in Singapore, I must say I don't know much about Singapore hotels first hand.

http://asiatravel.com/singapore.html
You can compare hotels at these sites, if for nothing else

I just passed by this hotel http://www.holidaycity.com/swissotel...pore/index.htm and I can say that the location isn't all that bad, plus the place is no where near as seedy as GL.

Hi Peter,
I live in Singapore. First thing that came to my mind when you mentioned GL was Geylang, the seediest part of Singapore. Then realised from the thread that it should be Golden Landmark, LOL. Well, we shan't recommend say Hotel 81, shall we?

Coupla recommendations... My parents from Malaysia have stayed at these hotels, the rates are reasonable, and both are centrally located:

Thanks all. We've booked the Singapore stopover deal (cheap!) with Singapore Airlines with private car (taxi) transfers, tickets to a lot of attractions and hotel included. We're staying at the Hilton.

Not an exciting hotel exactly but our priority was to be near Orchard Road shopping malls so we'd have somewhere really nearby to take our manic jetlagged toddler to run about safely in aircon without worrying about traffic in our dazed state.

We're hoping to get to see most of the kid-friendly things mentioned - zoo, sentosa, botanic gardens - plus eat lots. No overcommitment though - it's a holiday after all
