British Expats - Are These Feelings Normal

Leaving my place of employment (own small company/ joiner) no job in place in OZ, but will be financily ok for the first 12 months. Wife drops the bombshell,:- dont think we should go as we wont be able to survive, and being 45 shes worried i would be unemployable and why leave a place of being secure (UK) and under no pressure to relocate to the Sunshine Coast for a better quility of life, When if we have no employment then all we have is the sunshine. I have tried to reassure her i MUST be able to find work within the first 12 months, things surely cant be that bad in OZ., i will of course cut my losses if she refuses to go as she may have a valid point.
Are these UP and DOWN Emotions common ? Help

Hi it is normal to have these feelings but I would satisfy yourself by investigating job opportunities further with those who are currently there. Having just returned to the UK after three years on the Sunshine Coast - I can tell you it is a beautiful place to live, it is very laid back and quiet ( if you like that). I know some people in trades have found it difficult to get work and in order to settle and meet people work is often a great way of helping you settle in. What does your wife do? There are lots of retail/hospitality jobs but mainly casual so no guarantee of work (although generally if you're any good they normally give you plenty). How old is your child? Feel free to PM me if you need any more information. We returned because the work opportunities were limited and were not stimulating for us also school and university options for our older children are much better here for our kids.
