Hi thanks for the replys. Ok sorry i didn't mean 'lucky' now i read it back, what i meant was IF you haven't/didn't why not? is there a particular thing people fail on or is it just individual.. it is a hell of a lot of money to gamble for a piece of paper no matter how much we want it!
Thanks
Thanks

The other posters are right – its a points system, and there is no luck in it.
Having said that, there is a element of luck in terms of when you apply.
The visa conditions are constantly changing. I know people who got in years ago who wouldn’t stand a chance today, and conversely, i know people who didnt get in years ago who would get the points these days. Its all to do with skill requirements, changing rules and government policies and to some extent closing off abuses of the system.
Good luck with your application.

Yep, no luck. Just scoring points and having a job on the "in demand" list for even more points. The list changes all the time so you need to keep watching it. Oh and loads of patience involved too. But you should know from the start whether you qualify by checking the points score you get. If you have the points, you get the visa...

Very occasionally, you get someone who thinks they are in excellent health. But when they go for their medical it reveals that they have a very serious condition - serious enough to fail the visa. If that worries you, you could pay for a medical before you apply for the visa just to check you are in good health.
All the other conditions of a visa, e.g. skills requirements, work experience requirements, level of English etc, you can research before you apply. If you meet all the conditions then it's just a question of waiting until you get the visa. No "gamble", and no "luck" involved.

This being an Expat site, you are unlikely to find anyone who has been turned down Therefore asking on a site like this will give approximately 100% of the people who applied, were successful (give or take a % point or so).

Ok no your right no gamble then. I guess our concern is dh at work and getting that sorted out..finding the money and going for it. I know most people on here have been/gone/going so not much good but it always helps to ask incase someone knows someone.
Dh i think is so nervous about him being assessed due to work thinking he's off..trying to explain that again he has to explain it wont be for years!..he is very good at his job, qualified, excellent histroy etc but i have a feeling we will get caught up on something that we didnt think of!
Thanks again x

I think the OP has no understanding of the process involved in how to get a visa. Hopefully she will take on board the advice given to her on her other thread and start doing some research.
