Just read some news from Oz,yobs apparently threw rocks (two separate intervals but same night)at two ambulances that were in service at the time in Brisbane!Apparently some truck driver also had a rock thrown at his truck windscreen and has been treated for face injuries?How disgusting is that?What is this world coming to?

Disgraceful.

It's happens fairly regularly in the UK too. I know that near here some young kids delight in throwing rocks off bridges over the main expressway.

Seems like there is nowhere immune to yob culture!Shame!

Throwing rocks at the emergency services (yes, fire engines too believe it or not) isn't just restricted to the UK then. You know it's bad when it has been featured several times on Casualty!

Happens here quite regularly - stuff is often thrown at emergency services vehicles from motorway bridges, they aren't fussy though, they also throw stuff at trucks and private cars.

Been a few nasty ones here in Melbourne rocks thrown through car windscreens on the freeways.

Also they like throwing rocks at trains as well.

Local girl round here got his in the head by a brick dropped through the rear window of her car on the Kiama bypasss and was lucky to live.

we had one where we lived in the uk, poor woman got a brick thrown through her window when she was going down a country road.... in intensive care for ages and had to have a lot of reconstructive surgery. and that was in deepest, darkest rural kent. makes no odds where you live, morons everywhere

I agree with Bridie, morons are everywhere but who can answer this; the morons get caught on CCTV both in the UK and OZ for doing the same crime and hauled before the judge, now what will their sentences be ? i have a pretty good idea who will get the softest sentence.....

I work for a civil/structural engineering company in Canberra and Im currently drawing up some awfull looking steel safety screens for the bridges that pass over major roads in the city.
This is all because some of the kids here tied a large rock to some rope and hung it from one of the bridge barriers into the road below about windscreen height......A bus hit it injuring the driver and nearly killing everyone onboard.

Throwing a brick at a car is bad enough but meticulously positioning a rock in this manor above an 80k major road is disturbing
