Default Tents

Hi,
We have a brand new tent bought last year and only used once, its excellent a Outwell 12 man tent. The question is would this tent be practical in Australia as it was made for the weather conditions on the British Isles. We would really like to take it, but would it be suitable for the Australian climate. has anyone taken their UK designed tent and what if any are the drawbacks?

From what I hear if you're heading to Perth you may need your tent for camping out for land!

Hi
We had 3 weeks camping in western aus last easter (2 adults plus 2 kids) and took our vango tent with us from the uk. It was fab and can certainly recommend it! Our tent had a fitted groundsheet for climate control and we used to use the mossy nets on their own at night. It was so good we are planning on returning early next year again with our tent...

l don't think aussie tents are really any different then british tents, it gets cold in OZ half the year can get -0 degress during winter, does it have a fly net around the windows and doors that would keep insects out and the air in if your camping in summer.

as long as it is screened with insect nets and has plenty of ventilation it should be ok you will find unless you have a very large family you wont need a huge tent as all you do is sleep in them i think you will also need a large tarp that covers the tent from the sun (it weakens the fabric and dries it out until it rips in only a couple of trips) plus it gives you a shaded area to sit under that and a large heavy duty esky for

Can't help with anymore info but just like to let you know that camping seems to be quite a big thing over here. We are going to buy ourselves a tent and start camping in the next few months with our rellies. The only times the don't go is in the height of summer and the coldest part of winter. There are so many places to go to that aren't too far away.
Make sure it is spotless before adding to your shipping otherwise it will be a hassle in quarantine.
