Default Teaching/Supply Work in Sydney

Hi all,

I am moving to Sydney next week (British Citizen). I am fully qualified, experienced teacher and would like to get some teaching work in this area. Or anywhere really! Any help or adivce on this matter would be greatly appreaciated. I pretty much have all of the required paperwork ready to complete the registration process, but advice on job availability and general procedures would be great!

Paul

Hi Paul and welcome to BE. If you need help around the site you can ask me or Alistair aka Sherlock Holmes. Cant really help with the specifics, but we have a few regular posters who may be able to assist. Have you tried seek.com.au just yet?

Find myself in a similar position. I arrived last week in Brisbane, looking for a teaching position. I have been told there is a shortage of Science and Maths teachers nationwide, so as a teacher who has a PGCE in history, but having taught maths for the past 8 years I remain optimistic. I have joined Seek as well as registering with Smart Teachers. Now going through the process of having all certificates and transcripts being certified to allow me supply work.
Good Luck.
