Teaching in OZ
Are there any teachers out there who know whether or not the UKs Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is recognised out there (particularly in Melbourne).
Also what age do children start school

I have just had my PGCE from REading University recognised by the NOOSR. It took about 4 months - you need details of your course i.e. duration, teaching pratice, tutor reports & grades, evidence of where you are presently working or experience, details of your frist degree & I also sent my DfEs number & documents.
The school age of pupils is similiar but obvioulsy dates differ for the year, as in Oz they have 4 terms, no half terms & approx 4-6 weeks off at Xmas.

Including letters from past employers which was a bit tricky.
I had to rake out a course booklet from 10 years ago , thank goodness I hoard everything.
