tax and n/i help
we are due to emigrate in october,i,m self employed carpenter so what do i do regards my taxes and national insurance contributions.do i continue paying N/I.my accountant is sorting my tax return for me but do i need to notify anyone that were leaving thanx

you wont have to pay any tax if you are not resident in the uk unless you leave any assets here (house/savings etc) and ni contributions can also stop unless you want to qualify for mimium state pension then you must pay a total of 30 years to qualify. When you are a non resident you can pay class 3 contributions for your pension approx £450 a year. ask the NI (0845 9154811) for booklet NI38 it is all in here with the forms to fill out, i think you can download this aswell. hope this helps its all i have just found out !
