Smile Tasmania Meet Up

Hi Everyone,
We are looking at having a meet up in Tasmania, Hopefully going to make it every other month. Rotate the meets from Launceston and Hobart!!!
We are looking at having the first one around the end of Feb in the Cock and Bull in Launceston probably start around 12 ish make it a nice afternoon meet, Then if people want to go around shopping for a bit then come back they can do.
So has anyone got any dates they would prefair it to be??? I was thinking around the 23rd Feb 2008. How does that sound to people.

Can't make the Launnie meet but would be OK for Hobart. Any idea of when and where? We got to Tas in October and loving it but would love to hear from others who've moved here - over a cold beer!

Hello Heather!

We arrived in Oct too! Where abouts are you? We have a rental in Moonah and have met up with another brit family who came out 3 weeks after us (the Bishops), they are living in Lindisfarne. Its nice to be able to connect with each other as it can be a very lonely experience, not knowing anyone etc.

We have a 4 year old boy called Alex and the Bishops have 3 kids aged 6,5 and 2. So our kids get to play with one another which is good for them too.

Hi Kerry,
Good to hear from you! We are living in Marril St, Lindisfarne but are looking
to build a house in Granton this year. Kids are grown up and in the UK. Love it here but missing friends and would love to meet up with others who have recently moved for a catch up. Were are you from originally? Wow is it hot today! H

I am from Milton Keynes OH originally from E.yorks Bridlington. The Bishops are from Romford, Essex. I'll PM you with my mobile number, maybe we can get together sometime.

And yes its really hot!! I spoke to rellies in Melbourne it was 42c there today!! We are really lucky that we have air con here in our rental, been shut indoors with it on full blast today. There is a nice breeze outside now though, thank goodness.

Hi,

Good to hear from you. Hope to meet up with you sometime. We are from Burton-on-Trent (not too far from MM) but originally from Leeds and Birmingham. Love it here and we must have timed it right as the weather has been great since we arrived!

Just saw the Leeds thread. Nigel is a lifelong LUFC fan too. Good subject for discussion when we meet up!
