And when it rains hard, it's more like elephants and rhinos instead of cats and dogs. Miss the place and the clean air......oh so clean. Beats breathing the treacle here in Newcastle. Got two agents trying to sell our house, so fingers crossed. Any one know what the next lottery numbers will be just out of interest? Long shot but you never know.
If i knew what the next lottery numbers were i'd be packing my case already in preparation for the off after the draw saturday night! Good luck with the agents....at least you'll have them hopefully fighting to sell your place so that they dont lose out on commission to another agent! That's called "The nut" at Stanley.
Heres some more, http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3072/...67d26813_b.jpg Look at the foot prints in the sand for an idea how big these logs are. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3181/...bb63c8bd_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3181/...ae4f0e27_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3006/...3c30005f_b.jpg |

Are all of these pictures taken in the North of the Island near Burnie? |

Yes the beach shots are West of Burnie. If you look at one shot you can see tyre tracks on the sand. A mate took me out in his Pajero for a drive along the beach at speed too. Then a bit of 4X4. Most of the logs you see are huge and there were hundreds of them, all washed up by the sea. Saw a dead penguin that was cut in half by some thing sharp. Shark by the look of it. Speaking of sharks, there are quite a few of them in the waters. A big un was caught not far from Wynyard when i was there. Tell you what, i would not liked to have had a close swim with it as it was big enough to eat you. Still the locals catch them like it was normal, well there it is.

Re: Tasmania??
I did not hear of any one being attacked in Tassie (Northern Parts). But the sharks don't come in close to the beach. So they say. But there were loads of people every day swimming in the sea with no fear at all. All ages too. Best not to go too far out as there are strong rip tides any way. Lovely seas around Tassie. You do have to watch out for blue ringed octopus as they are deadly. Here is a YouTube vid of the beach.

Hi Sammy,
Welcome to Tas. Finding rental houses up near Lonnie was pretty dire too, we bought in the end even tho we may only be staying here 2 years! We have had some pretty cool thunder and lightening up north and loads of rain- however the dams don't seem to be much fuller. The shopping isn't up to much I admit- but as I am not a girl driven by fashion it doesn't bother me much! There are plenty of outside clothing stores etc. Tesco however is much missed..... Cathy Long time no post  Good to hear that you managed to buy though, even if you are only here for 2 years though, it's still a good investment. They reckon property prices, especially small units are booming again. And you don't have to sell, you could rent it out and still keep it as an investment. Good move I reckon.:) So apart from the shops, how is everyone settled? |
