Having lived there for 15 years, I should warn you that it's a good place to retire or visit on holiday, but a bad place to work (very little about) or bring up kids (not because of any crime or security concerns, but because the population is so small.)
The locals are also VERY cliquey.
I moved over there from Western Australia when I was 8 years old (my father had been offered a job by a large national company) and suffered horribly.
