Default Tapping Primary, WA

I am a Tapping resident and just learned today of the insane plan to split the local primary school in 2 and move the KinDy - Year 2 kids into prefabs on another site a couple of kilometers away. We now have to look forward to bringing our kids to 2 different schools by car instead of the 1 within walking distance around the corner :curse:

Can anybody shed more light or facts on this situation

In the local paper it said Tapping Primary is getting a HUGE influx of new students in the new year (the newspaper article said how many; I've forgotten, but remember being staggered at the figure). I imagine that's due to the large number of new houses that have been built in Tapping and Ashby.

They can't build a new school that quickly. It makes therefore sense to have the younger kids (who don't need as many teaching facilities) into the prefabs. And as there isn't room on the school site for the prefabs, they have to be on another site. Not ideal, but I guess that's the best interim soultion.

Tapping and Ashby houses sell around the $400k mark, which means you get a lot of young families ... who then need the primary school.
