Taking Tools as luggage????
Well 7 weeks and were off, getting really excited. Just got to sort a few things out now and we are ready. Need help on the tools situation. Can OH take his tools with us on our flight. I know they would not be allowed as hand luggage, but hoping they could be apart of our baggage allowance. I have tried E- mailing Singapore airlines but not having much joy. OH is a vehicle paint sprayer so looking at Spray gun and mask.

I don't think there is a problem with most tools so long as they are secured and within your weight allocation, unless you want to pay extra.
But spray guns could be classed as a pressure vessel (maybe) and the obviouse problem of proving that the paints/solvents have been removed.

Apart from the obvious sacrifice in weight, be prepared to have your luggage opened and inspected after their trip through the xray machine, plus the inconvienence of being grilled by security.

we're hoping to take a selection of tools with us on the plane so terry can start work as a mechanic when we get there rather than wait for the shipment to come
