How much did they quote and what type of dog?
Most of our quotes are for around £1700 for our Dobermann.

Airpets ( www.airpets.com ) have quoted us £1194 but an additional $800 for quarantine.
Ours is only a Jack Russell.
I would be interested in other peoples quotes.

Postmen stamp out roaming dogs danger
Delivering mail has become such a hazardous job in parts of Auckland that dog rangers armed with poles and nooses are to be used to protect postmen on their rounds.

We have been quoted £1400 for our dog, plus quarantine. Using Pet Travel Services as they are the only ones that fly out of Scotland. Never heard of James though. Make sure you check them out before parting with any cash.
We went into denial when we got the quote back and thought about not taking her - but couldn't part with her in the end. Makes her a very expensive mongrel though.

Are you going to Oz or NZ
There is no quarantine in NZ
Where are they based and can you give me a contact number?

I got a quote from James Cargo for our much bigger dog, and it wasn't very competitive, I also wasn't very impressed by the person I spoke to on the phone, didn't really sound like he knew what he was talking about, but as always with these things it seems to be the luck of the draw of who you speak to.
£800 sounds way too much for quarantine, I priced it up using all the info off of the AQIS website and made it about £350, that was Byford quarantine station Perth, but I was under the impression that they would all be roughly the same price.
the quote may be very cheap if it does not include the crate for travel and also for the dog to be sealed in by the vet etc, check what it includes!

Your quote does sound really cheap - sounds a bit suss, but maybe I'm wrong.
The quarantine fees are about $700 - $800 which would be about £300.
Reallly worried about how the journey will affect her, but the people we are dealing with say they handle it surprisingly well.
Anybody been through it already and can set my mind at rest??
