Hi all,
I'm due to depart for Oz next week and as such, I'm packing up all my stuff ready to send. One thing that has been bothering me though is my Cricket bat. I really want to take it with me as I paid £140 for it at the start of the season but I remember when I was at immigration last time, they were paraniod about anyone bringing wood products into the country. Does anyone know if Cricket bats come under this same restriction? I'm planning to put it in one of the crates I'm sending over.
Thanks in advance!
Jon

We bought 2 cricket bats over here. Did not encounter a problem with bringing them in at all.

It is "treated" wood, they do not have a problem with that ... just make sure it is clean.

Maybe ask a member of the MCC how they got around it, I would be 99% sure they don't buy new ones when they arrive for a series.

My brother took two hurls in last year (just strapped to the outside of his suitcase!) and he was fine. The most trouble he had was trying to explain to the lady at Emirates what they were. He eventually settled on hockey sticks as needless to say she'd never heard of hurling.
