Default taking a cat to brisbane

Has anyone taken their cat with them from the UK to Oz?
We plan to take our rescued 2 year old cat but are worried about how she'll cope with all the other insects and heat etc.
Has anyone any light to shed on the +'s and -'s of taking a cat.

:scared
