Taking car to Brissie?
first post!
Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times but I was wondering if anyone here has actual experience of the import process from start to finish?
It looks like it may be economically viable for me to do it based on the following info...
Car: Jaguar XJ6 3.2 Sport 1995
UK Value: Trade price - £2600-£3000
Australian Redbook Values
Trade in price guide $19,500 - $23,000
National average price - private sale $22,300 - $27,100
I was just wondering if the "hassle factor" was worth the small financial savings that can be made?

Does anyone know if this company 'overstate' the fee's or even understate for that matter?

I doubt its worth it now. I'd say only if you are attached to car and would want to replace it with similar model here.
If you intend to sell anytime soon it's probably marginal.
Remember market for cars like Jags seconhand is weak.
Good resale value is largely dependant on service history, and local cars with FSH fetch the best prices. Imports are frowned upon.
