keep an eye on the threads for weekly thursday night meet ups in sydney cbd. They are always a good laugh and the crowd has made my husband and I very welcome.

Meeting point is normally posted on a tuesday or wednesday by swerv_o

They include expat meetups too. Also try meetup.com and look for groups in Sydney. I have a girlfriend who met a lot of nice people through a dinner meetup. Think there is a pub crawl coming up in Oct. with the British Expat Meetup Group, if you're interested. I don't know about North Shore activities, sorry. Live over in Bondi.
