Do you mean something more than an ordinary taxi? I can PM you details of an excellent town car service but really, a taxi is fine. You can get minibus taxis if necessary.
Won't be cheap all the way to Hornsby. Is train out of the question?

We ordered a taxi to the cbd- it was expensive, and Hornsby is a lot further. The trains are pretty good, but if you are knackered and have huge cases, as we did, then a minibus/taxi is the way to go. There will be plenty at the airport.

If there are a few of you, just get a taxi. I just had a look at North Shore Airport transfers for you and for 4 people it would be $110 to Hornsby. That's sharing a mini bus as well you you might go all over the place before you get dropped off. OH gets taxis from the airport to Turramurra regularly (a bit before Hornsby) and it costs around $90, so I would imagine the taxi to Hornsby will be around $100-$110.
We pre-booked a taxi and wished we hadn't as they didn't turn up. We were left with 3 tired grumpy kids, dressed in shorts and t-shirts as we had come from Singapore, on the coldest Winter night in Sydney for years trying to find a pay phone to call them as we had pre-paid. If you have loads of luggage there are maxi-taxis there are people managing the queues which move remarkably quickly. Welcome to Sydney!

Re: Sydney Transfers
Costs for one person is $65 one way (either to or from) & would be pretty much the same distance to Horsby that it is to us. Asked how much for our family of 5 on one occasion had no discount for mulitples at same adress as they cost for bums on seats. so 5 x $65 = wayyy more than a taxi
Taxi Airport to us is $150 we know as he got home last month that way when trains were slow at Central in Sydney.
I'd go for mini taxi at airport & fork out $140++ for the whole family to be at destination within an hour.
Welcome to Sydney
