Default Sydney surburbs: where to live without a car?

Hi,

We are planning to relocate to Sydney in April. I am looking for more oppinions on where to rent 2br in Sydney. I am sorry for asking the same thing (I have read dozens of threads about it) but I have some different circumstances:

- We are not going to get a car.
- Thus we are looking for something close to public transport, ASDA/Morrisons like supermarket and not the worst primary schools.
- Quiet residential area at the same time,. and a safe area
- AUD300 pw preferable
- TAFE nearby
- 1hr distance to CBD

At the moment we live in Wimbledon area, London not far from Dundonald road tram station in a split level 2 br flat (just to give an idea):

I would like to find something similar in Sydney. We are not looking for a beach / nightlife but would not like move far away to the western surburbs. Your experience will be much appreciated. Thanks!
