Sydney and Melbourne job market?!?!? THE TRUTH?!
Hi guys,
I am considering the move to Australia but wanted to know the REAL truth about the job market...mainly in Sydney and Melbourne?!?!
What is it REALLY like for UK nationals trying to find a job on a working-holiday visa? Specifically as an administrator/PA/secretary?
Is it common for an employer to sponsor somebody on a holiday-working visa?
Has the job market in Australia suffered with the influx of UK nationals?
Any information would be greatly welcomed!
Thank you in advance,
Laura

Harder to get positions on a Working Holiday Visa than on a PR Visa, but not impossible. You may end up doing agency work and getting sponsored is usually right person, right place, right time - so you need a bit of luck.
Have a look at Seek.com.au for an idea of the jobs available.

the real truth is the gamble, you arrive and get a job, you sink or swim, that's the reality for most expats migrating here permanently, its one of them things where you throw your lot in and have a go or give it a half arsed effort and head back. job markets change daily, I was willing to do anything to get to earn a bit when we arrived, if your on a working holiday visa then you will pick up work ok as a temp, wouldn't you want to travel as well though,

The UK contributes an ever decreasing proportion of Australia's migrants.
From DIAC:
The proportion of migrants from the United Kingdom has been declining steadily from a high of 22.5 per cent in 2005-06 to 13.7 per cent in 2011-12.
